I loved the simplicity of the decor, the white, and the added touches of colour. But most of all I LOVED the pom pom and paper lantern cluster. This
Some more web and Pinterest Stalking gave me these other rooms as inspiration:

This one is basically the colour scheme we are using, a small pom cluster and I like the picture wall.
Since seeing the picture forever ago I planned on making a version all my own for my daughters room. I just was waiting for the right pieces, finding the lanterns, etc etc. I immediately got into making some coffee filter Pom Pom balls with a foam ball inner that I learnt from this site. I also went on Etsy and Ordered 5 Tissue Paper Pom Poms. I know I know I can make them myself for cheaper. I have done so too but found that when I make them they are all spazzy. the ends didnt look nice so I deiced to try just buying them. I got mine in January from a Seller on Etsy who no longer exists, but there are LOTS of sellers so just take a poke around till you find one you like.
After I got the tissue balls it kinda stalled. I wanted to go to some place and get the lanterns in person but I was unable to get places I thought would have them. I finally got there 4 weeks ago and couldnt find them so I just said fudge it went online to Lunar Bazaar and bought a variety of my colours and sizes.
Yesterday they came in and I got to work putting them up with 3M Command Adhesive hooks and fishing line.
The result:
My plan for the large blank wall on the left , which ends at the window, I plan on putting a collage of photos, Images, her birth announcement etc. That is ANOTHER ongoing project I plan on having done by the end of the year. I have been collecting frames and spray painting them (mostly white, some gold), and collecting art and images. Both Family photos and finds from Etsy. I am excited to see how it turns out.
We have made some other additions to the room. small book shelves. Re positioned the old wall shelves, added some shear curtains behind her solid white curtains for more texture and depth (though I tried to take pics of this and it was almost impossible. I also changed out some of the birds on the bird mobile to reflect the currant colour combo and Put up some other carousel photographs I had purchased for the room some time ago and never got up. Here is a collection of those photos.
I made the book shelves myself and the photographs are from Etsy seller Racy Tracy and are in Ikea Ribba Frames. My biggest pet peeve with this is the way a photo with a wire hanger hangs forward off the wall tipping out at the top and flush at the bottom.
These shelves have been up in the room for some time but I had to move them around as we prepare for baby #2. I put the one over the mirror to hold decorative items and the basket of creams. My daughter had a tenancy to take creams, lotions, etc and spread them all over her naked body, the carpet, bed, etc etc. You get the picture. Acutally I have pictures that I might share some day. Anyway I need to have diaper rash creams etc handy for baby #2 but NOT where Evelyn can get them on a daily basis and spread on herself. Hence the shelf.
Lastly I purchased this Ikea Bekvam Step Stool and painted it with Krylon Watermelon Spray paint. I masked off the bottom of the legs and left them 'raw'. I actually clear coated them with some water based clear coat first so they would be finished but unfinished. This is not a perfect piece there are some drips but its good enough for now and lets Evelyn climb into her bed with out hurting her feet.
In case you are wondering this is a very small bedroom which will be housing a new born and her 2 year old sister. its 8'x11'. It will hold a twin bed, the dresser, diaper bin, laundry basket, and crib and that's it. When this one needs a big girl bed, we will need to get bunk beds, or move someone to the basement room. For now baby will be sleeping in a basinette in our room. Once the rooms is all done, with new baby in, collage up etc etc Ill show it to you again.
Waiting for baby ANY day now...
Happy Crafting.

The room looks great, Erin. I hope your new little miss shows up soon and that the delivery goes well. Still waiting here, too, although I'm hoping to last long enough for Kim to arrive. It's going to be hard giving her up to you and Jason in November!
You're little one's room looks amazing! I love that you did the dipped look opposite on the stepping stool. and the gold mirror looks fab. Really great job! just discovered your blog. loving it.
